Quilted Cars and Other Things

Hello, amazing people! I finally finished one of my WIP's today and somehow started another one. How does that even happen?  I finished my car quilt made from Peak Hour made by Moda. Yay for me - finally! I have spent the last few months relocating and remodeling my studio. Then another month slowly adding shelves, etc. and moving in, all while sewing, of course!

Today, while waiting for my little helper to iron 2 little borders I seized the moment and started furiously chopping up a delicious charm pack of Double Chocolate by 3 Sisters for Moda. First, into halves, neatly arranged while putting half away for another project. Then cut again into two 2 1/2" pieces of lushness. I quickly drafted a template on a scrap of paper, and with my trusty rotary cutter in hand I had 63 darling little thimbles cut out before I knew it!

By that time my helper had 2 crispy borders starched and ironed within an inch of their lives. Did I stop then and pursue my baby quilt which is nearly completed? No, I did not. I forged on and assembly line quilted those babies, and had them put together in no time. How did you do it so quickly you might ask. The real answer is because I used no pins on all those seams and matchy points. Because I'm THAT good? No, because I was being a tad bit lazy and in a fast stitching mood - and because I like to live life on the wild side sometimes!

At this point, I would attach the pix for you to see, but it's been a long time since I uploaded anything to Picasa web albums and I'm stuck with a foggy brain. A really long time - and it's 2 am, so I will try it later today. Happy quilting!
